June 16, 1910 ~ February 8, 1986


CHICKASHA - Services for Otis Houston Beene, 75, of Chickasha will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ben Williams, pastor of the Verden United Methodist Church, officiating.

Beene was born July 16, 1910 in Pauls Valley and died Saturday in Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha.

We was a long-time Verden resident before living in Bradley from 1926 to 1936. He returned to Verden in 1936.

He married the former Florence Lamb in 1951. She died in July 1979.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Rayburn of Alex and Mary Beth Buchanon of Verden; three brothers, Leon of Pine Prairie, La., Carl of Lawton and Alvin of Fort Cobb; two sisters, Blanche Dunn of Chickasha and Hazel Whitehead of Del City; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Verden Cemetery under direction of the Browy-Binyon Funeral Home.

Florence [Lamb] Beene
September 26, 1907 ~ July 9, 1979


VERDEN ~ Services for Mrs. Florence Beene, 71, a longtime resident of Verden, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church of Verden with the Rev. Bert Roarke, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Beene died Monday in the Grady Memorial Hospital at Chickasha, following a long illness.

She was born August 26, 1909 in Verden and married Huston Beene August 3, 1951 in Anadarko. She had worked at the Verden Post Office 34 years, retiring in 1971, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Verden, where she served as church organist several years. Mrs. Beene was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and a former member of the Home Demonstration Club of Verden.

Survivors include her husband of the home; one sister, Roberta Davis of Anadarko and a brother, Marvin Lamb of Oklahoma City.

Burial will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of the Hansen-Binyon Funeral Home of Verden.
