Allan L. Winham

RUSH SPRINGS-- Allan L. Winham, 88, Rush Springs, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 in Chickasha.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Rush Springs Church of Christ, with Clif Werhan officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Allan was born Wednesday, August 31, 1921 in Achile, Oklahoma, to Lilburn Irvin Winham and Lula [Moffit] Winham.

Allan lived in Faxon, Chattanooga, Borger, TX and Houson, TX before moving to Rush Springs.

He graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1941.

Allan married Dorothy Eastus on August 2, 1941 in Walters.

He was past president of the Rush Springs Lion's Club. He helped in many civic and state activities.

Allan owned and operated the Chevrolet agency in Rush Springs from 1959 to 1986. Allan held a private pilot's license and owned a plane for six years. He loved to hunt, fish and ride his horse, Biscuit.

Allan, along with Dorothy enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include,Wife, Dorothy Winham of the home; Son, Greg Winham and wife Angie of Rush Springs; Daughter, Anita Sanders and husband Gayle of Oklahoma City, Grandson, Tyler Sanders of Edmond; 2 Brothers, Olan Winham and wife Helen of Lawton, Alvin Winham and wife Mary of Lawton; 3 Sisters, Opal Glasgow of Roswell, NM, Areta Mills and husband Harry of Keller, TX, Dixie Bryan and husband Larry of Denton, TX; Many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Alton Winham.

Pallbearers will be, Conn Goodwin, Ronald Parish, Dale Jones, Raymond Rust, Shorty Pelley, Brent Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Jennings, Chuck White, Harold Duke, Roy Dorman, Jack Porter, Sr., Jack Porter, Jr., Jim Chaffin, Junior Hale, C.L. Woody, Joe Tunnel.

Dorothy Faye [Eastus] Winham

Dorothy Winham, 92, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 in Rush Springs.


Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the Rush Springs Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Rush Springs.


Dorothy was born Wednesday, May 7, 1924 in Chattanooga to Marvin and Lena [Smith] Eastus.

She graduated from Chattanooga High School with the class of 1941.

She married the love of her life, Allan Winham, on August 2, 1941 in Walters. The couple made their home in the Rush Springs area where they raised their children.

Dorothy was Business Manager for Winham Chevrolet until she retired in 1986. Her hobbies included feeding cattle, cooking, working puzzles and her cats. She was a member of the Rush Springs Church of Christ.


She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Doris White and her parents.
