Wilson, 90, of Rush Springs, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Rev. Elmer Whitehead will officiate. J. V. Wilson died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel. © Rush Springs Gazette Rush Springs, Oklahoma November 7, 2002 J. V. Wilson J V Wilson, 90, of Rush Springs died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5 in the chapel of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Rush Springs. Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery. Mr Wilson was born July 24, 1912 in Rush Springs, the son of Henry Wilson and Odie [Black] Wilson. He and Dorothy Lowry were married July 1935. She died in 1989. He was then married to Mildred Jones. She died in 1992. He had lived in the Rush Springs area most of his life. He was a member and former president of the Rush Springs Lion Club. He was a member of the Rush Springs Masonic Lodge and was a former mayor of Rush Springs. He enjoyed hunting deer in Colorado and enjoyed fishing at various lakes in the Rush Springs area. In his later years he and his wife Mildred enjoyed antiques. He also enjoyed coin collecting. He was self-employed. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and one son Steve Wilson. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Porter of Chickasha; a son Ricky Wilson of the home in Rush Springs; two grandchildren, Rob Spears and wife Ellen of Oklahoma City and David Spears and wife Cyndy of Mustang; two great grandchildren, Lindsey Ebenhack and husband Jaso and Rachel Spears; a step daughter Judy West of Ft Worth TX, a sister Toy Lee Heaston of Chickasha; his care giver Damon Wyrick; several cousins; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jack Porter, Alton Pendley, Joe Tunnell, Morris McKay, Ken McAdoo and Morris McAdoo. |
