Apr 2017 Christine Elga [Patterson] Whybark Christine Elga Whybark, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Chickasha. She was 93. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs with burial to follow in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services of Rush Springs. Christine was born Sunday, July 8, 1923 in Foster, OK, to Thomas Roger and Martha Lucinda [Pettit] Patterson. She lived in the Marlow and Rush Springs area all of her life and attended school there. She married Monk Largent and they later divorced. Later, on December 14, 1960, she married Nevlin Elmo Whybark in Marlow. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1992. Never one to mince words, Christine will always be remembered as a woman who told it like it is. She loved animals of all kinds and will be also remembered for her love of fishing. Christine loved music and enjoyed listening and dancing to it. She liked playing cards and dominoes with her family and friends as well as traveling and could always be found watching and listening to westerns playing on her television. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Danny Largent, a granddaughter, Michaelann Mullins, grandson, Darrin Whybark, three sisters, Tommy Weryrick, Jewel Chambers and Nomie Largent, a brother, Coy Patterson, a son-in-law, Pat Shipman and daughter-in-law, Patsy Largent. |
