White was born May 8, 1919, in Rush Springs, and died on Sunday, March 15, 2003, in Gregston Nursing Home of Marlow, Okla. September 2014 Norma Jean [Mitchum] Whit Norma Jean White, 92, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Marlow. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 8, 2014, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, with Rev. Lynn Parkhurst and Rev. Bubba Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Norma was born Monday, August 28, 1922 in Rush Springs, to Troy T. and Hattie Anne [Myers] Mitchum. Norma lived her early life in Oklahoma and then moved with her family to Bridgeport, Texas for work. On November 1, 1941, Norma married A.C. White in Bridgeport, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2003. Norma worked for Cline Industries as an inspector for several years, but her greatest joy was raising her sons and spending time with her family. She loved to cook and was an accomplished quilter, she completed 28 quilts as gifts for family members. Norma enjoyed going to the Marlow Senior Citizen's Center and was a long time member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs. Norma was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Thomas White, brothers, Mark, Homer, Bruce, Thomas, Joe Bill, and Junior, sisters, Edra, Gerrie, Hazel, Mollie, and Maxine. |

© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma April 29, 2002 Tommie Yvonne [Davis] White Funeral service for Tommie Yvonne White, 69, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church. Tommie Yvonne White was born May 11, 1932, in Bailey, Oklahoma, the daughter of Oscar and Pearl [Archer] Davis and died April 29, 2002, in Rush Springs. Tommie lived all of her life in Grady County, Oklahoma. She and Clinton White were married August 9, 1948, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Tommie was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, three sons, one grandson, one granddaughter and one daughter-in-law. Survivors include: her husband, Clinton White, of the home; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Lenora and Gayle Trenton, of the home; 4 sons and a daughter-in-law: Charles and Wanda White, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, David White, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Bobby White, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marvin White, of Port Charlotte, Florida; 3 sisters, 3 brothers; grandchildren: Debbie Owens, Jay Wood, Roxi Horton, Charles Wayne, Kevin White, Chris White, Rocky White, Nicholas White, Brandy White, Tiffany White, Charlie Shannon, Tate Shannon, Zachary White, Brandon Wood, April Hopper; step grandchildren: Ted Trenton and wife Angie, Gayla Turner and Lonnie Trenton. Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
