Charley Frank Tipton

Charley Frank Tipton, 75, of Duncan died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, in Duncan.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hurby Morgan officiating and the Rev. Russell Tuck assisting.

Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Tipton was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Vinson to Glenn Giles and Bessie Mae Thompson Tipton.

He married Thelma J. Hightower on July 24, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1999.

Mr. Tipton was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the U.S. Army.

He retired from Halliburton Services in 1983. He was a member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Sue Thompson of Oklahoma City and Thelma Jeanice Sides and her husband, Max, of Duncan; two brothers, Jimmy Tipton of Mangum and John Tipton of Yukon; four sisters, Ruby Hudson of Edmond, Faye Cotton of Bethany, Edna Davis of Yukon and Beverly Farley of Guthrie; and four grandchildren, Kristopher and Anthony Sides, and Heath and Ruth Ann Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Otha Lee Tipton.

Bearers will be Glen Wall, Randy Wall, Kevin Davis, and three grandsons, Kris Sides, Tony Sides and Heath Thompson.
