December 2018 Marylee Esta [Adams] Raney Marylee Esta Raney, 83, passed away peacefully with her friends and her dog at her side Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Marlow. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. On Tuesday, March 12, 1935, Marylee was born to Jack Floyd and Helen (Farkas) Adams in Canton, OH. She grew up in the Rush Springs area and graduated from Rush Springs High School and went on to earn her bachelors degree in secondary education from the University of Sciences and Arts in Chickasha. Marylee married the love of her life, James Russell Raney in Lakewood, California on May 25, 1973. They had 36 wonderful years before James' passing on September 22, 2009. In addition to her many years living in Rush Springs, she lived in Jefferson County, Colorado for more than 27 years as well as various places such as Kansas, California, and Ohio prior to moving back to Rush Springs in the fall of 1991. Marylee was an accomplished educator and taught for more than 34 years. She taught various subjects, but her main emphasis was teaching English. She enjoyed reading and music. A caring and loving person, Marylee loved taking care of her animals. She was a former member of the BPandW, Saint Andrews society in Colorado, and also helped with the election board for many years. Marylee was a member of the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church. She had two brothers, Ray and Jack Adams and one sister, Dolores Jackson. Her survivors include, Several Nieces and Nephews. Along with her husband, Marylee was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers will be: Arnold May, Jerry Dunn, Travis Slawson, and Jacqueline King. |
