Emory Joseph Pierce

"Emory Joseph Pierce, 97, died Friday, January 26, 2001 at Gregston Nursing Home in Marlow where he was a resident.

Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Rush Springs with Rev. Clif Werhan officiating. Burial, under the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, will be in the Rush Springs cemetery.

Mr. Pierce was born November 16, 1903 in Springtown, Texas to Louie and Laura Conder Pierce.

He married Verdia Williams on December 22, 1928 in Rush Springs. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1988.

Mr. Pierce came to Oklahoma when he was 12 and lived in Rush Springs. He was active in his church, where he was a member for 71 years. He farmed and raised cattle and was active in the Rush Springs Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma Jean Ward of Marlow; a son, Donald LeRoy Pierce of Lawton; a sister, Juanita Bagwell of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; and one great, great, great grandchild; as well as numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Baxter, Buford, and Buck Pierce; one sister, Lillian Amy; a grandson, Bruce Pierce; a daughter-in -law, Ora Fay Pierce; and a son-in-law, Clark Ward.

Bearers will be his grandsons."

Ora Faye [Carter] Pierce

MARLOW - Ora Faye Carter Pierce, 63, of Lawton died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, in University Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Graveside service was to be at 10:30 a.m. today at Rush Springs Cemetery with Roger Schwenn officiating, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Mrs. Pierce was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Marlow to George Thomas and Verna Louise Knight Carter. She married Donald LeRoy Pierce on Feb. 3, 1951, in Henrietta, Texas.

She was co-owner and operator of Pierce & Sons Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning in Lawton for 30-plus years. She was a former Marlow resident and attended Marlow schools. She had been a Lawton resident since 1958.

Survivors include her husband, Donald LeRoy, of the home; four daughters, Belinda Pierce of Lawton, Tonya Repp and her husband, Lavon, of Lawton, Kimberly White and her husband, Durel, of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Stacey Pierce of Lawton; four sons, Michael Pierce and his wife, Debra, Bryan Pierce and his fiancee, Traci, Patrick Pierce and his wife, Deanna, and Donald M. Pierce and his wife, Jerri, all of Lawton; a brother, Tom Carter and his wife, Berdine of Marlow; a sister-in-law, Norma Ward of Marlow; her father-in-law, Emory Pierce of Rush Springs; an uncle, Woodrow Carter and his wife, Othella, of Marlow; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; an infant son, Donald Bruce Pierce; and a brother-in-law, Clark Ward.
