Larry Joe Loyd

Rush Springs: Larry Joe Loyd, 63, passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 in Rush Springs, OK.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with Jamie Jordon officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, OK.

Joe was born Wednesday, March 19, 1947 in Purcell, OK, to Merle Lee Loyd and Vina Viola Weaver. He lived in Rush Springs all of his life and graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1965. Joe married Virginia Parsons in Byers, Texas on December 18, 1964. He was a volunteer firefighter for Rush Springs and served for 25 years as the assistant fire chief. Joe owned and operated J & V Water Services. He often went to Little Sahara to play in the sand and ride dune buggies. Joe collected old cars and loved having cook outs and spending time with his family. Joe was a member of Hope Community Church and attended Vimy Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home, son, Larry Dewayne Loyd of Marlow, daughter, Angela Winham and husband Greg of Rush Springs, daughter, Gina Edwards of Rush Springs, five grandchildren, Jamie Jordon and wife Silvia, Joshua Ray Edwards, Dustin Lee Edwards, Brandon Lee Loyd, Trevor Landon Loyd, great-grandson, Silas River Jordon, sister, Merlina Jennings and husband Roy of Rush Springs, sister, Anita Bickerstaff and husband Kraig of Marlow, five sisters-in-law, Beatrice Hayes, Wanda Mayne, Alice Ferguson, Betty Edwards and husband Rick, Jolene Loyd Forbes, brother-in-law, Carl Parsons, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lenston Loyd, and sister, Linda Hageman.
