May 2002 Fronia Delilah [Mosley] Lowry Former long-time Rush Springs resident Fronia Delilah Lowry, 96, of Tyler, Texas died Saturday, May 4, 2002 in Tyler. Funeral services were held at 10am Wednesday, May 8, 2002 in the Southern Baptist Church of Rush Springs with the Rev Elmer Whitehead officating. Burial was int he Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mrs Lowry was born Sept 28, 1905 in Pea Ridge OK, the daughter of Ransom Mosley and Ozella [Todd] Mosley. She was married to Samuel Neal "Buster" Lowry on 11 Dec 1927 in Rush Springs. He died 4 Dec 1989. She had been a resident of the Rush Springs area all of her life and attended Bailey and Marlow schools. She had been a member of the Rush Springs Bon Temps Literary Club and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Souther Baptist Church of Rush Springs. Survivors include a daugther, Patsy Payne and husband Dr Donald Payne of Tyler, TX, 3 grandchildren, Keith Payne of Shreveport LA, Marke Payne of Winston-Salem NC, and Alan Payne of Denver CO and six great grandchildren. |
October 1972 Helen [Herrin] Lowry Funeral Services for Helen Lowry Were Held on Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Lowry, 57, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Southern Baptist Church with Alvin McConnell Jr., pastor, officiating. Mrs. Lowry was born Nov. 24, 1914 in Elgin, and died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday in an Oklahoma City hospital following an extended illness. She was married to Graden Lowry on Feb. 1938, in Marlow, and had been a resident of Rush Springs since 1938. Mrs. Lowry was a member of the Southern Baptist Church and had operated her own beauty shop for many years until having to stop because of health reasons. Pallbearers were Roy Teel, Elton Teel, Wallace Dowling, Pat Dowling, Cletus Doyel and Ted Cline. Burial in the Rush Springs Cemetery was under the direction of Callaway-Smith Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Graden of the home, Mrs. Nick Edwards, Rush Springs; four brothers, Herbert Herrin of Dallas, Texas, Doy W. Herrin of Torrance, Calif., Jim Herrin of Fayetteville, Ark., and Don Herrin of Fletcher; three sisters, Mrs. L. L. Reynolds of Odessa, Texas, Mrs. Pernie McMahan of Carmel, Calif., and Mrs. Mabel Lee Mayes of Sulphur, and two grandchildren. |
