Evelyn Faye [Jones] Jolley

Evelyn Faye Jones was born Thursday, March 31, 1927 in Rush Springs, Grady Co, OK to Arnold Paul and June Winifred "Winnie" Fitzhugh Jones.

Evelyn was raised in Rush Springs and was a member of the Baptist Church. She was crowned Watermelon Queen in 1942, just before WWII. She graduated from Rush Springs High School with the Class of 1946 and graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1950.

Evelyn married William Moore Jolley on December 26, 1950. The marriage later ended in divorce.

She lived in Texas from 1953 until 2015. She settled in Longview in 1957 and started teaching 3rd grade at Pine Tree Elementary in 1963. She retired in 1992 to be a full time grandmother and travel the world on Christian mission trips.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Longview. Evelyn was a wonderful loving, Christian sister, mother, mother-in-law and grandmama. She went on over 20 mission trips around the world sharing her love for and faith in Jesus Christ.

Evelyn Faye Jones Jolley, 88, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Tyler, Smith Co, TX.

Survivors include Daughter: Deborah Lynn Jolley Mann and son-in-law, Frank J. Mann of Tyler, Texas; Grandchildren: Michael Etheridge Mann (Brittany) of Houston, Harris Co, TX, Mary Kathryn Mann and William Austin Mann of Tyler, Texas; Sisters: Shirley Jones Dobson of Irving, Dallas Co, TX, Lola Jones DeSantis of Hermosa Beach, Los Angeles Co, CA; Brother: Dale F. Jones and wife Kay Bernard Jones of Rush Springs; Nieces: Sherry Dobson Uhl and Linda DeSantis Lombardo; Nephews: Clay Dobson, Scot Jones, Daniel DeSantis and Richard DeSantis, Jr.; and several great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
