January 2003 Essie Earlene [Payne] Harriso FLETCHER - Funeral for Essie Earlene Harrison, 92, Fletcher, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy McFarland, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Harrison died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at a Lawton care center. Burial will be at Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. She was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Memphis, Texas, and came to the Comanche area as a child. She moved to Rush Springs as a teenager. She married Z.D. Harrison on Dec. 24, 1929, in Rush Springs, and they moved to west Texas. They moved back to the Fletcher area in 1941, where they farmed and ranched. They also owned and operated a grocery store from 1960 to 1972. He died in 1979. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Fletcher, the Eastern Star, and the Share and Care Club. Survivors include a son-in-law, Mateo Giammario, New Hope, Pa; five grandchildren: Mat and Mark Giammario, Melinda Vinet, Ben Malone and Shelley Malone; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Vinet; a sister, Nevada Ogle, Elgin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse I. Payne and Hattie Mae Brown Payne; two daughters: Peggy Malone and Jeffie Giammario; four brothers: Jesse, Roy, Curtis and Clarence; and two sisters: Lorene Tate and Sethie Helms. |
February 2002 Finis Euwing Harrison Graveside services for Finis E. Harrison, 82, Chickasha, will be held at 2 pm, Friday, March 1, 2002, at the Rush Springs Cemetery with Paster Johnny Tims of First Baptist Church, Chickasha, officiating. Finis Euwing Harrison was born July 3, 1919, near Rush Springs, OK. He was the eighth and last child of Zachariah and Matilda Harrison. He passed from this life on February 27, 2002, in Chickasha. Finis grew up on the family farm in the Rush Springs area. He later served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was honorably discharged from the US Army during World War II. He married Bonnie Bernice Brown on July 12, 1941, in Chickasha. They were married for 60 years. Finis worked in the oil field for many years. Finis worked in the oil field for many years, owned a gas station, and retired from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority in 1982 at the age of 62. He enjoyed working around his house and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death: Orville, ZD, Ollie, Joe, Maggie Harper and Odie Mae Pendley. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Rev. Elmer Mason, M. E. Brown, Faye Harrison, Agnes Harrison, Buster and Edith Butler, and Rev. Willard Harper. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, of Chickasha; children: Keith and Darleen Harrison, Sherry and Gerald Grimes. He was "Pappy" to Brent Grimes, Angie Grimes, Jason Harrison, all of Chickasha, and Jennifer Harrison, of Tulsa. One sister, Naomi Mason of Fort Worth, TX, and 4 sisters-in-law, Erlene Harrison, of Marlow, Betty McAdams, of Chickasha, and Lucille Brown, of Oklahoma City, survived him. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher. He now has 4 great grandchildren: Gage Harrison Grimes, Kanaan Brock Cremer, Jonah Kade Cremer, and Lacy Rae Grimes |

Johnny Tims, pastor of First Baptist Church in Chickasha, officiating. She passed away peacefully from this life on May 10, 2004, in Chickasha after a long bout with dementia. Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher. Bonnie Bernice Brown was born on July 14, 1922, near Rush Springs. Her parents were Jess H. and Edna [Hicks] Brown. She grew up in Grady County graduating from Fairview High School in 1940. She married Finis Harrison on July 12, 1941, in Chickasha. They were married for 60 years at the time of his death in February 2002. Bonnie worked at several places in Chickasha, retiring from Washita Valley Community Action Council in 1993. She loved to read and brag about her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Dr. Keith and Darleen Harrison of Chickasha, Sherry and Gerald Grimes of Chickasha. She was "Mama-mia" to Brent and Amanda Grimes of Chickasha, and "Granny Meo" to Jason Harrison of Chickasha and Jennnifer Harrison of Oklahoma City. Her sister, Betty Brown McAdams of Chickasha. Sisters-in-law Lucille Brown of Chickasha and Gerteen Harrison of Marlow. Many nieces, nephews and friends. Special friends, Florence and Carl Dunn of Chickasha. Preceding her in death were: her husband Finis, her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Buster Butler, and her brother, Malcolm E. Brown. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Orville and Agnes Harrison, Z. D. and Erleen Harrison, Rev. Elmer and Naomi Harper, Joe and Faye Harrison, Rev. Willard and Maggie Harper, Ollie Harrison, Odie Mae Pendley, and her nephews, Jim McAdams and Melton Brown. |
