P. J. Hampton

Dr P J Hampton was born on August 24, 1870, in Johnson County MO. He remained on the farm with his father, Rufus Hampton, until past twenty-one years of age.

He then attended University Medical College at Kansas City, MO, graduating in 1899.

He came to Indian Territory the same year, settled at Ninnekah for a short time, and then moved to Rush Springs in 1900.

On October 11, 1893, he was married to Mrs Louise Shore. To this union was born one child, Carment Louise, on May 15, 1895.

Dr Hampton was a Mason, Odd Fellow, M W A, and was a member of the first Baptist Church.

He practiced medicine in and around Rush Springs continously until his death on Oct 6, 1936. Mrs Hampton preceded him in death on Jun 26, 1931.
