May 2011 Bert B. Glover Graveside service for Bert B. Glover, 94, Lawton will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Rush Springs Cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by Apache Lodge #223. Mr. Glover died Monday, May 2, 2011. Burial will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He was born November 13, 1916 in Rush Springs to Orville B. and Mattie Ethel [Bonar] Glover. He attended school in Rush Springs and was a Baptist. He married Marjorie N. Cost on August 1, 1942 in Chickasha. She died January 6, 2010. Mr. Glover was a cotton buyer and classer in Chickasha and Lubbock, Texas from 1935 until 1972. He was a carpenter in Fitzpatrick, Alabama and Lawton from 1972 until 1999. He joined the Masonic Lodge in Chickasha in 1943. He was Worshipful Master at Chickasha Lodge #94 in 1949, and was Worthy Patron of Elgin Order of the Eastern Star in 1988. He became a 32nd degree Mason in 1944 and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member and honorary past master of Apache Lodge #223 and Mt. Scott Lodge #540. He was also Honorary Past Master of Cache Lodge #391 and Elgin Lodge #367. He received his 50 and 65 year Masonic pins and aprons, and was a Class A. Certificate Lecturer. Mr. Glover loved to drink coffee at Ann's Country Kitchen, sit on his front porch and attend lodge. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Boyd B. and Cheryl Glover, Lawton, a grandson, Martin Glover, a sister, Allene VanSickle, Lawton and a brother-in-law, Monte Mount, Lubbock, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Muriel Beth Mount. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. |
