June 2001 Oleta Beckman [Kerr] Gilpin Funeral services for Oleta Gilpin, 81, of Rush Springs, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church. Oleta Gilpin was born July 13, 1919, in Wapanucka, Okla., and died on Sunday, June 24, 2001, in Chickasha. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, Rush Springs. |
Monday, 17 March 2014 Jean Gilpin, 84, of Rush Springs, died Monday, March 17 in Duncan. Funeral services were pending Tuesday with Callaway~Smith~Cobb Funeral Hoe, Marlow. Services will be officiated by Rev. Mike Bates. Jean was born September 15, 1930 in Rush Springs, to Bernice W. and Leona [Heilman] Ridley. She attended school at Rush Springs where she had lived her entire life. She was married to Donald L. "Bud" Gilpin in Jul of 1950. He preceded her in death September 15, 1989. She enjoyed raising her grand kids, raising chickens and gardening. She was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Rush Springs. Survivoirs include three sons, Joe Gilpin of Huffman, Texas, Alan Gilpin of Rush Springs and Gary Gilpin of Jones Creek, Texas; three daughters, Carol Pitcock of Kelso, Tenn, Sylvia Sampley of Rsh Springs, and Yvonne Cernock of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister, Helen Ridley of Rush Springs. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one step brother, Robert Graves. Pallbearers will be Alan Gilpin, Alan Gilpn Jr, Vick Sampley, Joe Gilpin. Ronnie Gilpi amd Gary Gilpin. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Brooks, Timmy Daniels and Billy Merritt. |
