Viola Pearl Gilbert


Mrs. Viola Pearl Gilbert, 79, died 13 March 2005. She suffered a stroke 3 years ago and was living with her son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Angie Gilbert in Del City, Oklahoma.

She was the daughter of Claude & Ethel Haynes, born 22 July 1925 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, where she was raised.

She was the wife of Marvin Wayne "Gib" Gilbert and mother of Charlotte Anne Power, deceased, Larry Gilbert & Sue Jones.

Pearl loved fishing, traveling, camping, gardening and generally being outside. She also enjoyed needle arts, crafts and painting. Painting bird houses was especially enjoyed by Pearl.

Pearl leaves her son, Larry Gilbert & wife, Angie of Del City; daughter, Sue Jones & husband, Jim of Tulsa, OK; brother-in-law, Bill Gilbert & wife, Virginia of Texas; granddaughters: Jacque, Tania, Tana, & Tara; 6 great grandchildren: Brooke, Baleigh, Parker, Brian, Lyndsey, & Celisse; numerous cousins and other family.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, 17 March, 2005. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, 18 March 2005 in the South Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
