May Bill Wayne "Billy" Garrett Rush Springs: Bill W. Garrett, 69, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Rush Springs. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Bill was born Saturday, August 26, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas, to James Oddis and Evalea [Reagor] Garrett. Bill had lived in Rush Springs for the past 41 years. He lived in Anadarko for eight years prior to moving to Rush Springs. On April 8, 1965, Bill married Elaine Palombo in Abbeville, Louisiana. He worked as a welder on pipeline construction for many years before retirement. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved the outdoors, riding horses, and welding. Most of all, Bill loved to spend time with his family. Bill was a member of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs. Survivors include, wife, Elaine of the home, son, Rick Garrett and wife Wanda of Venus, Texas, daughter, Tina Fitzpatrick and husband Jerry of Rush Springs, 4 grandsons, Dustin and Jarred Garrett, Cody Fitzpatrick and Rachel Hodgson, Zachery Fitzpatrick and Amber Goodman, great-grandson, Mason Garrett, two brothers, James Wayne Garrett of Rush Springs and Joseph Garrett of Poulsbo, Washington, numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James E. Garrett, and sister, Oleta Singleton. Pallbearers will be: Ron Nee, Lowell Dennis, Matthew Adamson, Cody Fitzpatrick, Dustin Garrett, and Jarred Garrett. Honorary pallbearers are: Jim Chaffin, James A. Garrett, and Zachery Fitzpatrick |
