Melissa [Gilbreath] Disheroon

"Mrs. S. J. Disheroon died at her home nine miles southwest of Alex early Tuesday morning after several days of intense suffering. Her five days old baby also passed away. They were buried Wednesday, at Rush Springs."

W/O Seaborn John Disheroon.

Surname spellings: Dishroon, Disheroon and Dishroom.

Looking through the census and marriage records, we found that she may be the Melissa Gilbreath who married Daniel S. Crooks in 1894 in Hunts Co., Tx, later divorcing him. The 1910 census shows her as being "Melissa Disheroon" and her husband as "Seab Disheroon". According to the census record, they had been married 8 years giving an estimated marriage year of 1902. She was most likely his second wife though because on the 1900, S. J. Disheroom was married to a woman named "Mary". Children shown in the family on various census records were: Melvin, b: 1901, Orvill, b: 1911 and Jessie M., b: 1913.
