Thomas Sanford Crow

CROW SERVICE TO BE FRIDAY

Services for T. S., Thomas Sanford Crow of Rush Springs, 85, who died at his home Wednesday evening, will be at 2 pm Friday in the chapel of Mullican Funeral Home, Rush Springs. Mr. Crow was born Dec. 9, 1870 in Falls County, Tex. He had lived in the Rush Springs district since 1915 and in Rush Springs since 1948. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nervie [Wood] Crow of Rush Springs. A first wife, Mrs. Nancy Jane [Wood] Crow, died in 1901. Other survivors include four sons; Willis Crow of Chickasha, Alva Crow of Sterling, Robert Crow of Turner, Ore., and Calvin Crow of Rush Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Stella Harland of Cutler, Calif., Mrs. Leda Gilbreath of Orosi, Calif., Mrs. Odell Brown of Long Vale, Calif., and Mrs. Ethel Lewis of Orange Cove, Calif.

He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Family info: T. S. Crow was the son of W. W., William Walter and Nancy Jane [Anderson] Crow. W. W. Crow was the son of Benjamin Sanford and Nancy Jane [Brown] Crow.

Minerva Belle "Nervie" [Wood] Crow

Funeral service for Mrs. Minerva "Nervie" Belle Crow were at 10:30 am Friday in the Missionary Baptist Church in Rush Springs. Rev. J. L. Hightower officiated.

Mrs. Ruby Haynes, Miss Janice Haynes and Mrs. Ruby Beard furnished the music. They were accompanied by Mrs. Donna Beard on the piano.

Pallbearers were Kenneth W. Crow, William Crow, James Crow, Larry Hatfield, Tommy Doughty and Perry Bennett.

Interment was in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Brown Funeral Home, Chickasha.

William Calvin Crow

Funeral service for William "Calvin" Crow, 93, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2003, at Grand Assembly of God Church.

William "Calvin" Crow was born December 11, 1909, in Milo, Carter County, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas Sanford and Minerva "Nervie" Belle [Wood] Crow and died October 23, 2003, in Chickasha.

Mr. Crow moved from Milo to Rush Springs in a covered wagon when he was 5 years old. He had loved in Grady County for 88 years.

He and Marice "Laverne" Bennett were married April 30, 1941, in Chickasha.

Mr. Crow owned and drove his own trucks.

Mr. Crow served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Grand Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Crow was preceded in death by: parents; 4 brothers: Willis, Alvie, Elmer, and Robert Lee Crow; 3 sisters: Minnie Mills, Stella Harland and Leda Gilbreath.

Survivors include: Wife, Marice "Laverne" Crow of the home; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Larry Hatfield, 1 son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Becky Crow of Houston, Texas; 2 sisters: Odell Brown and husband, David of Redding, California, Ethel Lewis of Ashdown, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Marice Laverne [Bennett] Crow

Funeral service for Marice Laverne Crow of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be Saturday, Jan 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Central Assembly of God, 901 Grand Avenue, Chickasha.

Mrs. Crow was born Sep­tember, 21, 1922, in Rush Springs. Oklahoma, the daugh­ter of Tom Bennett and Mary "Dime" [Merrett] Bennett. She completed her earthly journey on January 6, 2018 in Chickasha.

She had made her home in Grady County for most of her 95 years. She attended Little Rush and Keechi Schools where she was a fierce competitor in sports. She enjoyed camping and fishmg especially on the Washita River with extended family where "throw-lines" were set and checked at two-hour intervals during the night. She also had a reputation for selecting a good watermelon, skill she learned while helping her family with the farming as a young girl.

She was united in marriage with William Calvin Crow on April 30,1941, in Chickasha.

Mrs. Crow loved to work outdoors and spent several years in their trucking business, driving a "bob­tail" hay truck with a "headache rack", while her husband drove a semi-trailer. They made many trips to Kansas and Nebraska to find hay to take to the dairies around Fort Worth, Texas. She never needed "Women's Lib."

Mrs. Crow was a member of As­sembly of God Churches most of her adult life and faithfully served wherever needed.

Laverne was preceded in death by: parents and husband; 5 brothers; Leo, Cleo, Perry, Donald, and Louis; 3 sisters: Vemice, Kathenne, and Lila and one son-in-law: Larry Hatfield She also grieved the passing of her dog Buddy.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Hatfield of Chickasha; son, Kenneth and Becky Crow of Willis, Texas; a sister, Betty Copeland Vansill and husband Jess of Chickasha and a sister-in-law, Lenora Bennett of Chickasha: 6 grandchildren: Glenna and Mark Reid of Bartlesvile, OK; Cory and Linda Crow of Houston; Lonnie Hatfield of Jay, OK; Trista and Marcel Shroff of League City, Texas; Casey and Bernada Crow of Houston; Tana and Casey Loring of Spring, TX.; 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Paul Herman Crow

Funeral for Paul Herman Crow, 57, will be at 10:30 am Friday, Dec. 15, 1989, in First Assembly of God Church, Rush Springs, with Rev. Lonnie Harris officiating.

He was born May 1, 1932, at Rush Springs and died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1989 at his home in Rush Springs.

He had lived in Rush Springs all of his life and was an oil field worker.

He was married Nov. 26, 1955, in Chickasha to Edna Tedder.

Survivors included his wife, Edna Crow of Rush Springs; one son, Luther Crow of Rush Springs; one daughter, Sheila Blankenship of Rush Springs; one grandson, Timmy Lee Blankenship Jr. of Rush Springs; one brother, William Harold Crow; three sisters, Mary Bell Coffman of Oklahoma City, Edna McKenzie of Mississippi, Rosie Jay of Holdenville.

Pallbearers will be Gene Bratcher, Frank Peterman, Jerry Steward, Richard Johnson, Phillip Moreno, Larry Crabb.

Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel.
