They were the parents of Day O., Sell M., and Arneilda Cook. They lived most of their married lives in Grady County, Oklahoma. She died at her son Sell's home in Wyoming. |

© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, 4 May, 2007 Thelma Ruby [Bray] Cook Thelma Bray Cook, 88, Alex, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in Alex. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, with Rev. Greg Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Thelma was born Thursday, January 30, 1919 in Stephens County, to John Albert and Beulah [Copenhaver] Bray. She attended school at Vimy Ridge. She married Allen Albert Cook in Nov. of 1937 in Chickasha, OK. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1998. They lived in Healdsburg, CA in the 1950's. Thelma was employed by DFA of California as a dried fruit inspector for twenty five years. Thelma was very knowledgeable of the industry as well as devoted. Upon retiring, they moved back to Oklahoma in 1992. She enjoyed gardening in her flower beds until her health began to decline two years ago. Thelma will be missed by her family as she has been an inspiration to them all. She was a member of the Rush Springs Church of Christ Her survivors include two sisters, Mary Ruth Parks & husband G.T. of Alex, OK; Madge McNeil & husband Earl of OR; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Durwould Bray, Forest Bray, Carl Bray and Bert Bray; sister, Cora Davis. June 2014 Dorothy Mae [Doughty] Cook Marlow: Dorothy Mae Cook, 81, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Marlow. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dorothy was born Friday, October 14, 1932 in Atoka, to Franklin and Christeen [Hulbert] Doughty. She lived in the Marlow and Rush Springs area all of her life. On March 14, 1949, she married T. J. Wright in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1967. She later married James Rayburn Cook on June 25, 1971 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1987. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, working cross word puzzles, spending time outdoors and fishing. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Marlow. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tommy Doughty, sister, Billie Crow, grandson, Christopher Wright. |
