Stella Bessie [Jones] Heath Coffee

Stella Bessie Heath Coffee, 97, former Rush Springs, Okla., resident, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Midwest City.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rush Springs Cemetery, with David Hale officiating. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Stella was born in Rush Springs on Oct. 29, 1910, to Arthur and Betty Gunn Jones.

She married Carl Eugene Heath in 1926. They bought a farm where they farmed and raised cattle until Carl's death in April 1953.

In January 1955, she married Irvin Bert Coffee and moved to his farm where she helped raise two of his children, Pat Pelton and Gene Coffee.

They enjoyed many years of traveling and camping after Irvin's retirement. The children and grandchildren enjoyed going with them on their trips.

She was a hard worker and enjoyed spending the summers in her gardens.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Rush Springs.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin Heath and wife Betty of Rush Springs, and Gene Coffee and wife Frances of Edmond; two daughters, Madeline Schooley of Midwest City, and Juanita Scott of Florence, Ala.; 11 grand-children; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands; a daughter, Patsy Pelton; her parents; and two brothers, Arthur Jones, Jr. and Billy Ray Joyce.
