James Maywood Burleson
Burleson Services Were Held At 3:30 p.m. Monday
Funeral services for James Maywood Burleson 79, of Route 1, Ninnekah, were held Monday at 3:30 pm from the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Gary Graham officiated.
Burleson was born Feb. 2, 1895, in Lamera County, Texas, and died at his home Thursday, Feb. 21st.
He lived in and around Rush Springs until moving south of Ninnekah in 1926. He had been a farmer and rancher all of his life.
He and Miss Thelma Ruth Bryarly were married in Chickasha on March 30, 1918.
Burleson was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had served on the administrative board of the church for a number of years. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and Farmers Union. In July of 1967 he was the WKY Farmer of the Month. That same year he was also the Farm Bureau Farmer of the Year. He was the last of a family of eight children.
Music was provided by Mrs Margaret Lindsey and Mrs Conn Goodwin, accompanied by Mrs Waldo Wettengel pianist.
Pallbearers were Arthur Harris, George Thomas, A.V. Berry, L.D. Lindsey, N.C. Ulrich, and Joe Mutz.
Honorary bearers were Joe Mileur, Waldo Wettengel, E.P. McCullers, Roy Smith, and Bill Marsh.
Interment was in the Rush Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Ruth, of the home, one daughter, Mrs Betty Hill of San Diego, Calf., and several nieces and nephews.

Thelma Ruth [Bryarly] Burleson
Funeral service for Mrs Thelma Ruth Burleson, 77, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, was Tuesday in the United Methodist Church of Rush Springs under direction of Sevier Fneral Home. Rev. Wayne Parker, pastor of the church, officiated.
Music was provided by the church.
Pallbearers were: Jerry Rowell, Jerry Mutz, L.D. Lindsey, Joe Mileur, Art Harris, and Bob Bauman.
Interment was in Rush Springs Cemetery.

Thelma Ruth [Bryarly] Burleson
Burleson Rites Were On Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Ruth Burleson 77, Ninnekah, were held Tuesday at 10:30 am from the United Methodist Church in Rush Springs. Rev. Wayne Parker, pastor of the church, officiated.
Mrs. Burleson was born Sept. 29, 1899 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She died Saturday in the Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha. She had been in failing health for the past three years.
Mrs. Burleson came to Oklahoma in 1918, and had lived here since that time. Her husband, J.M. Burleson, died on Feb. 24, 1974.
Interment was in the Rush Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Betty Hill of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Tom Dunn of Ninnekah; three grandchildren, and one niece, Mrs. LeVota Blades of Rush Springs.
Pallbearers were Bob Baumann, Art Harris, Joe Mileur, Jerry Mutz, L.D. Lindsey, and Jerry Rowell.
