© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday December 15, 2011 November 7, 1921 ~ December 12, 2011 Graveside services for Jayne Thompson will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha. Viewing will be Friday, December 16, 2011, 6-8 p.m. at McRay Funeral Home. Jayne was born the daughter of Clyde McCauley and Nettie Talla McCauley on November 7, 1921 in Chickasha. She died on Monday, December 12, 2011 in Austin, Texas. Jayne grew up in Chickasha, attended OCW college, married Eugene Thompson . They lived in Sioux Falls, SD, Beaumont and El Paso, Texas, Oklahoma City and Falconhead, Okla. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints working with the women's and youth programs. Other memberships included Zeta Phi Eta, a national drama sorority; Willow Creek Country Club; Falconhead Ladies Golf Association; Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. She taught speech and drama at Grant High School and was the girls' golf coach. She loved her students. She was an ardent genealogist and family was her highest priority. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Nettie McCauley, stepmother Jessie Whitted McCauley, her husband Eugene Thompson, her daughter Marcia Thompson Sims and her sister Melbe McCauley Byrd. Survivors include son and wife: David and Lynn Thompson; daughter and husband: Gloria and Eugene Hardcastle; granddaughter and husband: Becky and Greg Meyer; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Cecily, Jacob, Ethan, Zoe, Aaron, Seth, Caleb, Ava Meyer; granddaughter and husband: Holly and Tim Byers; great-grandchildren: Tim, Ryan, Kenny, Corbin Byers. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. |
