© Shawnee News Star Shawnee, Oklahoma October 11, 2001 November 2, 1912 ~ October 8, 2001 Franz Arthur Tewksbury, 88, of Prague, died Monday in Prague. He was born November 2, 1912, in Chickasha to William Arthur and Mayme Henderson Tewksbury. He grew up in Chickasha, and moved to Maysville in 1954. In 1935, he and Vallie Fern Bolles were marred in Chickasha. Tewksbury, a watchmaker and jeweler, lived at Maysville for 18 years, operating Tewksbury Jewelry. He was a member of First Christian Church, Chickasha, and had lived in Prague for seven years. Preceding him in death were his parents and one infant sister. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Franz Tewksbury Jr. and Susan Tewksbury of Escondido, California; Robert D. Tewksbury of Oceanside, California; and Jay and Joyce Tewksbury of Prague; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Rosehill Cemetery in Chickasha. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma April 8 & 9, 2009 May 2, 1914 ~ April 5, 2009 Vallie Fern Tewksbury was born on May 2, 1914, in Maysville, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 94. Vallie, the daughter of Robert Harrison and Cora Ethel [Hill] Bolles, was a resident of Prague. She married Franz Arthur Tewksbury on February 9, 1935 in Chickasha. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2001. She was a homemaker, worked for many years in retail jewelry sales, and was of the Methodist faith. Her parents, three brothers and three sisters, also preceded Vallie in death. Survivors include: Sons and daughters-in-law: Franz Arthur, Jr., and Susan Tewksbury of Escondido, CA; Robert Dean Tewksbury of Oceanside, CA; Ronald Jay and Joyce Tewksbury of Prague; 8 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma, with Mike Tucker officiating.
