John Richard "Dick" Roberson

Graveside service for John Richard "Dick" Roberson, 85, of Chickasha, will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha.

John Richard "Dick" Roberson was born June 14, 1924, in Alex, Okla., the son of Dee and Dorothy [Cruse] Roberson. He died Feb. 28, 2010, in Oklahoma City.

Dick graduated from Alex High School.

He then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He and Wilma Dee Patterson were married Dec. 28, 1963, in Chickasha.

Dick lived in Chickasha most of his life. He worked in the oilfield and later worked as a carpenter retiring in 1984.

He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wanda Lee Perry, Joy Hoosiengay, and Wilma June Wilson; sister-in-law, Linda Roberson; mother-in-law, Lola Grace Patterson, and frandson: Travis Arbuckle.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Dee Roberson of the home; one daughter, Donna Lee Roberson of the Woodlands, Texas; three sons, Larry Roberson of Chickasha, Okla., Richard Roberson, Jr. of Yukon, Okla., Robbin Morgan of Chickasha, OK.; one brother, Jerry Roberson of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Clara Phillips and husband, Joel, of Chickasha; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and countless other family and friends.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, of charity of your choice.
