Funeral services for Donald Lee Mullican, 83, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Talbert officiating.

Donald Lee Mullican was born May 22, 1932 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Irvin Lee Mullican and Mildred Pauline [Garton] Mullican. He died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Donald grew up in Chickasha, attended and graduated from Chickasha Public Schools. He attended Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas and also attended Louisiana State University. He received his Master's Degree from Oklahoma State University.

He spent his lifetime in church ministry, always leading and helping the people within the communities where he served. He began as a minister at the Verden Church of Christ, then spent 14 years as the minister of Cement Church of Christ, and also was the minister of Carnegie Church of Christ for 12 years. Donald was also a self-employed TV sales and service man. He had been an electronics instructor with the Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center at Fort Cobb, retiring in 1991. He continued serving surrounding communities with his ministry; he was a counselor with the Westview Boys Home and until his health failed he again ministered at Carnegie Church of Christ.

Donald married Betty Stark on September 4, 1969 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage. For some years they lived on a farm and Donald always enjoyed working with the cattle. He was a great husband, father, and Grandad.

He was preceded in death by both parents, a son, Joseph Mullican, a grandson, Tanner Mullican, and a sister, Merilyn Mullican.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Mullican, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Michelle Mullican of Houston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Lou Ann and Jim Talbert of Chickasha and Kimberly and Raul Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Jan Mullican of Arizona; sister, Beverly Jaques of Kingfisher; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Services and interment at Rose Hill Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
