Mattie [Roberts] Monroe
Funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Monroe of a local nursing home will be 11 am Saturday in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Carl Polsley of Tuttle, officiating. Mrs. Monroe was born June 10, 1888 in Cook County, Texas. She died Thursday in a local nursing home.
She and her late husband, E. C. Monroe farmed and lived in the Amber area from 1919 to 1970 when they moved to Chickasha. Mr. Monroe preceded her in death in June of 1971.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Tuttle.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Bowers of Chickasha, and Mrs. Inaz Jackson of Shawnee; three sons, Morris Monroe of Fort Worth, Texas, Gerald Monroe of Norman, and Donald Monroe of Amber; one brother, J. T. Roberts of Marietta; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
