Mary Leita [Finley] Meade

Graveside funeral for Mary Leita Finley Meade, 91, Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, Nov. 17, 1989 in Rose Hill Cemetery with Jim Sheerer officiating.

She was born Feb. 15, 1898, in Petersburg, Tenn., the daughter of J. A. Finley and Dollie Appalona Finley. She died Nov. 14, 1989 in Chickasha.

She married Dewey Mead on Feb. 10, 1924, in Hugo.

Mrs. Meade moved to Hugo at the age of five from Petersburg, Tenn. She grew up in Hugo and lived there until she came to Chickasha in September, 1925. Mrs. Meade collected and dealt in antiques. She was a superior cook and had won several cooking contests.

Mrs. Meade was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband, Dewey Meade, on June 16, 1977.

Survivors include a host of friends.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
