Mrs. Horton Funeral Held Last rites for Mrs. Susan Emlin Horton, Cement, Route 2, were conducted Monday afternoon at the chapel of the Brown Funeral Home by Rev. C.P. Broome, pastor of the Frisco Avenue Methodist Church. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Music for the services included three duets by Mrs. Alice Rice and Miss Mary Jane Payton, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Wessie Burney Ray. Their selections included "Shall We Gather At the River," "Going Home to Die No More" and "Rock of Ages."
Mrs. Horton died about noon Sunday at her home near Cement, where she had lived for the past year and a half. Previously she had made her home at Centrahoma, Ok., for 20 years.
Surviving members of the family include three sons, Albert of Winston, N.M., Jim of Ada and Jesse of Falls Brook, Calif.; and four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Morris of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs. Georgia Scyrkels of Lindsay, Mrs. Rena Shoffitt of Marianna, Ark., and Mrs. Willie Johnston of Cement.
Pallbearers for the services were: J.W. Talley, Cecil Smiley, Ernest Brown, Andy Sumner, E.A. Clark and Key Goetting.
