A HEART OF GOLD
Dave Hill is Dead On Sunday, November 27, the Master called him and he passed from life unto death.
Thus ended the chapter of a romantic and eventful career. He was known and well liked from the Rio Grande to Kansas City as well as east and west.
In his home town he was loved by thousands, young and old. The children all knew him and called him "Uncle Dave."
How many of you here have so often heard that congenial salutation, "Hello sonny, hello sissy" How is your mamma, how is your papa?"
Portraying with that open friendly smile, the very goodness of his soul, he never refused to hear the call of distress or help those who were seeking liberty. I know men both living and dead that he has given a part of his all, except his life's blood, and the times were when he stood ready to give even that.
Ingersol once said that life was but a narrow vale between the cold and barren peaks of two eternities and we strive in vain to look beyond the heights but somewhere out yonder in the realm of God's unknown world I can see the spirit of Davd Hill resting in peace.
