James Corbett "Jim" Heath
January 31, 1898 ~ March 26, 1923

Death Calls James Heath

James Heath died Monday afternoon at a hospital in Chickasha, where he had been under treatment for the past two months. He fell from the tower of the derrick, where he was working on the Hawk and Ware well, south of town February 3, sustaining injuries which resulted in his death. For a time it looked like he was going to pull through, but he took the small pox which sapped his strength and pulled him down until it was impossible to recover and he gradually grew worse until death came as relief to his tired, worn body.

During his stay in Alex he made a number of good friends and some of them visited him at the hospital every week, carrying flowers and rendering such service as they could to brighten his remaining days.

He is survived by his father, one brother and one sister.

The funeral services were conducted at the Anderson funeral home in Chickasha Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.
