Funeral services for Larkin Frank Hart, 88, of Chickasha, will be held today, Wednesday, September 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Esten Leonard officiating.

Larkin F. Hart was born on February 19, 1916, in Amber, Oklahoma; he was the son of Frank Hart and Gertrude Willette Hefner Hart. He died Monday, September 13, 2004, at his home in Chickasha. Larkin grew up in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, and attended Ninnekah Public Schools. He married Bonnie Camilla Donaldson on March 22, 1937. They were married 60 wonderful years before her death on August 1, 1977.

Larkin managed a war production manufacturing company during World War II. In 1946 he opened his own business, Chickasha Manufacturing Company. The company performed precision machine work and metal fabrication. Chickasha Manufacturing Company was recognized as the premier custom manufacturing plant in Oklahoma. In 1968 Larkin founded Hart Trailers in Chickasha. After his retirement in 1980, Larkin enjoyed farming; he raised cattle and produced wheat and alfalfa.

Known for his kindness and generosity, Larkin Hart was admired and loved by all who knew him. Among the many causes he supported, the University of Oklahoma, ranked as one of his favorites. His support of O.U. included avidly watching the Sooners play football. Larkin served 17 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank and Trust Company in Chickasha, and in 1999 he was selected as Mr. Chickasha.

Larkin was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Camilla, two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Kay Hart of College Station, Texas, Norman and Pat Hart of Oklahoma City, Anthony and Kay Hart of Chickasha, David and Sheila Hart of Chickasha, and one daughter, Camilla Elaine Hart of Chickasha; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Albert Hart and Raymond and Ann Hart, all of Criner, Oklahoma; a sister, Grace Scott, of Gainesville, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
