© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 21 October 2003 Betty Ann Hurst Gunning of Dawson, Ga., formerly of Norman and Chickasha died Sunday, Oct. 12, at her home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harvey Funeral Home in Dawson. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Dawson with the Rev. Wyman Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha. Brown-Binyon Funeral Home in Chickasha is handling local arrangements. It can be reached at 224-4141. Mrs. Gunning was born in Chickasha to George Everette and Velma Myers Hurst. She had lived in Dawson since 1990. She was a retired antique dealer and florist. She also was an apartment owner and manager. She attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dawson and the Terrell County Historical Society. Mrs. Gunning was preceded in death by her son, David Brent Gunning. Mrs. Gunning is survived by her husband, Richard Gunning of Dawson; sons, Robert Daniel Gunning of Stafford, Va., and James Gunning of Hendersonville, N.C.; daughters, Amy DeBusk of Nashville, Tenn., and Rhonda and Christine Gunning of Greenville, S.C.; and 10 grandchildren.
