© Jagers & Sons Funeral Home Athens, Ohio Sunday, November 26th, 2006 Dorothy Jean Golden, age 94 of Athens passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 19, 2006. She had been a resident of Russell's Nursing Home in Albany. She was born Aug. 23, 1912 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late William Oscar Pitchford and Dora Harley Pitchford. She married Derrell Eugene Golden on Oct. 12, 1934. The couple made their home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1974. In 2000, she moved to Athens to live with her daughter, Martha Gaye Shamblin. Mrs. Golden is survived by her son, Gary (Patricia) Golden of Chesterfield, Missouri; her daughter, Gaye (Don) Shamblin of Athens; two nephews; two nieces; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Golden; a brother and sister in law, Paul and Mabel Pitchford; a brother, Cyrus Pitchford and a brother in law, Donald Golden. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma at a later date. Local arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home. |
