© The Chickasha Express-Star Thursday, 8 December 2005 Graveside service for Joseph Walter (Joe) Ferrell, 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Bill Long of Heartland Hospice. Joseph Walter (Joe) Ferrell was born December 23, 1920, the son of Henry and Leila Ferrell and died December 7, 2005 at the Chickasha Nursing Center. Joe attended school through the 8th grade at Coffelt School in the Ninnekah area. He finished school at Alex High School, graduating in 1942. He served during World War II from July, 1942 to November, 1945 as a squad leader in a mortar company with the 91st Infantry Division. He was authorized to wear the European Theater of Operations Ribbon, the Presidential Citation, the Good Conduct medal, the Combat Infantry Badge and 3 battle stars. He farmed most of his life in the Verden, Alex and Chickasha Communities. Joe also worked as a carpenter and retired from Chickasha Mobile Homes. He was preceded in death by: Parents; seven brothers-Pearl, Jim, Arthur, Oscar, Arch, Howard and Louis Hensley; five sisters-Lena, Rebecca, Rosia, Annie, and twin sister Elizabeth; and one infant daughter Joann. He is survived by: His wife of 59 years, Betty Ferrell of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Mary Lee and R.B. Payne of Chickasha; three sons and their wives: Olen and Georgia Ferrell of Amber; Larry and Betty Ferrell of Blanchard; Mike and Gayle Ferrell of Hutchinson, Kansas; Grandchildren: Tommy and wife Monica Payne of Ninnekah; James Ferrell of Kansas City, Kansas; Chris and wife Chelsea Ferrell of Chickasha; Alicia Ferrell of Stillwater; Bruce Ferrell of Amber; Jennifer and husband Brad Schwartz of Garden City, Kansas; Jack Mitchusson of Blanchard; Kristi Ferrell and Lara Ferrell of Blanchard; Gina and husband T.J. Turner of Salina, Kansas; and Jill Ferrell of Hutchinson, Kansas; Great grandchildren: Caleb and Ethan Payne, Jackson Mitchusson, Taylor and Ashlyn Schwartz, Trey and Whitney Turner, one Ferrell of Chickasha; Host of nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |

© The Chickasha Express-Star 13 October 2008 ~ 15 October 2008 Funeral services for Betty Lou Morgan Ferrell, 80, of Chickasha, will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday October 14, 2008 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Betty Lou Ferrell was born June 6, 1928, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Mary Virginia "Virgie" Palmer Morgan and W. E. Morgan. She died October 10, 2008, in Chickasha. At the age of 9, her beloved step-father, Joe Armstrong, came into her life. It was from him that she learned the value of honest hard work and loving a family. Betty attended school at Bradley and Alex. She married Joe Ferrell on May 1, 1946 in Chickasha. Betty worked for many years at the Chickasha High School cafeteria. She loved spending time with her family, and was especially proud of each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved to sew. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and R.B. Payne of Chickasha, three sons and their wives: Olen and Georgia Ferrell of Amber, Larry and Betty Ferrell of Blanchard, and Mike and Gayle Ferrell of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren: Tommy and Monica Payne of Ninnekah, James Ferrell of Kansas City, MO., Chris Ferrell and Chelsea of Chickasha, Alicia and Kacy Riddel of Norman, Bruce Ferrell of Amber, Jennifer and Brad Schwartz of Garden Plain, Ks., Jack Mitchusson, Kristi Ferrell and Lara Ferrell of Blanchard, Gina and T. J. Turner of Salina, Ks., and Jill Ferrell of Emporia, KS.; great grand-children: Caleb and Ethan Payne, Jackson Mitchusson, Taylor, Ashlyn and Wyatt Schwartz, Trey and Whitney Turner; sister-in-law: Lavada Ferrell of Chickasha; brother-in-law, Junior Walden of Prague; and a host of nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, OK. |
