Estes, 85, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2004 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. James N. Estes was born July 12, 1918 in Norge, Oklahoma, the son of Henry and Ella (Nelson) Estes and died February 13, 2004 in Chickasha. Mr. Estes graduated from Pioneer. He lived in the Chickasha area his entire life. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Estes married Othala Kell, and she preceded him in death in 1989. He married Maye Doss in October of 1991. Mr. Estes was active in the DAV and served as Commander. He also served on the Board of the Farmers Union. He was also preceded in death by: Parents. Survivors include: Wife: Maye Estes of the home; one son and his wife: Michael and Rita Estes of Anthem, Arizona; one daughter: Jana Beth Giles of Rowlett, Texas; 4 grandchildren: Chad and wife Karissa; Clay Estes; Jennifer Giles and Jamie Brown; Stepchldren: Daymon Doss and wife Sally; Jan Williams and husband Paul; Curtis Doss and wife Lise; Lori Wasson; Great grandchild: Harli Estes; Half brother: Patrick Estes of Yukon, Oklahoma; Stepgrandchildren: Kerensa Doss; Stephen and Reid Williams; Nawab and Huki Doss; Zack and Jeremy Wasson; Rebecca and Chelsea Wasson. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star 17 February 2004 James N. Estes Funeral service for James N. Music was provided by Paul Williams. Active Pallbearers were Raymond Jobe, Zac Brown, Bob Cantrell, Zack Wasson, Kyle Barrington, Jeremy Wasson and Gabriel Doss. Honorary Pallbearers were Jake Standridge, Jodie Sevier, Buddy McWhorter, Thurman Cavin, Bill Davis, Jim Elliott, Hershel Taylor, Ted West, Roscoe Persalis, Dan Howard, Terry Carver, Ken Howell and Darren Keef. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Sevier Funeral Home. |
