Corrine R [Hilliard] Dickerson

Last rites for Mrs. C. R. Dickerson, pioneer Negro resident of Chickasha, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church.

Rev. C. B. Newton is to conduct the services and interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Dickerson had been in ill health for several months and died Sunday morning at her home 728 South Shepard.

She came to Chickasha in 1895 and she and her husband were the first couple to be issued a marriage license in Chickasha. A member of the First Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Missionary society, and Federated Women's club.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Christian Funeral Home. Survivors include four daughters, Irene Dickerson of the home address, Hartense Merida, Delora Parnell, and Alyce Williams, all of Los Angeles; one son, Dudley of Los Angeles; two brothers, Lewis Hilliard of Banner Springs, Kan. and James Hilliard of Denison, Texas; one sister Mrs. J Oscar Spencer of Nowata, and eight grandchildren.
