Crowder, 68, of Chickasha, were held Saturday, December 6, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, with Ron Caudill and Chris Austin officiating. Ted W. Crowder was born Marcy 01, 1935, in Snyder, Oklahoma, the son of Dee Ford Crowder and Mary Ellen (Williams) Crowder. He died December 4, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Ted moved to Shamrock, Texas, as a young child where he attended public schools, graduating from Shamrock High School. After high school graduation and working for a short time, he entered the United States Army. While in the service, Ted served as a military policemen and served his tour of duty in Stuttgart, Germany. He served in the armed forces from 1956 through 1958, when he was honorably discharged. Shortly after entering the U. S. Army, he married Sandra Richardson, on October 15, 1956, in Clovis, New Mexico. Ted moved from Texas to Chickasha in 1966 and was employed with Goodyear and later Chickasha Manufacturing, before leasing and operating Kerr McGee Service Station for twelve years at 4th and Grand. He retired in 1986. Ted was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Dee Ford Crowder, one brother, Dee Ford Crowder, Jr., one sister, Mary Ann Cline, and one daughter, Georgia Dee Crowder. Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Radeena Crowder, Gregory and Karen Crowder, Mark and Sandy Crowder, all of Chickasha, Tracy and Birdie Crowder, of El Reno, one daughter and son-in-law, Krisandra and Christopher Brunner, of Independence, Kansas; his mother, Mary Ellen Turner, of Chickasha; and fourteen grandchildren. Daddy was a loving, caring husband, father, son and grandpa. He cherished his wife and family and loved to spend time with them. He enjoyed going to church, giving, serving as an usher and fellowshipping with his Christian family. He enjoyed taking drives with momma in his truck, fishing, visiting his mother and "PaPa" and loved rocking his grandkids in his chair. We will all miss his hugs, kisses, laughter and the sound of his voice. He was loved and cherished by all of us. Words cannot express the emptiness that we feel without him. We know that we will one day see daddy again in Heaven. Our daddy left us with the assurance that he knew Christ as his Savior and that is where we will get our comfort. Nahum 1:7 "The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. II Corinthians 12:9 "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: For my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I gather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." We Love You, We Miss You, Your loving family Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
