© The Chickasha Daily Express Saturday, Jan. 17, 1914 Adam D. Conrad Death Come to Aged Man A.D. Conrad, aged 75, died this morning at the home of his son, M.C. Conrad, 216 Colorado avenue, having suffered for a period of five years from a stroke of paralysis. One week ago, deceased with his wife, Mrs. A.D. Conrad, his son, D.E. Conrad, and his daughter, Miss Ethel Conrad, arrived here from their former home, Eldon, Iowa, to make Chickasha their home. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence, 216 Colorado avenue, with the I.O.O.F. lodge in charge and with Rev. A.C. Emmons of El Reno officiating. The deceased was born in Starke county, Ohio, June 30, 1839, where he lived until 1864, at which time he moved to DeKalb county, Indiana, where he married Miss Martha H. Childs, April 21. To the union were born three sons and two daughters, four of whom survived their father, and were at his bedside when the end came this morning. His daughter, Mrs. Zula E. LaLonde, died 26 years ago in Minneapolis, Minn. The members of his immediate family left to mourn his death are M.C. Conrad, Chickasha; J.J. Conrad, Chickasha, and D.E. Conrad and Miss Ethel Conrad, who accompanied their parents here a week ago from Eldon, Iowa. A.D. Conrad was a member of the Presbyterian church for many years and a member of Fraternity Lodge No. 62, I.O.O.F, Minneapolis, Minn, of which he was past noble grand. |
