© The Chickasha Daily Express November 1947 Clarinda [McKenzie] Cocheran Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Home for Mrs. Clarinda Cocheran, 74, of Cement, route 2, who died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at her home. Waldo Proffitt will officiate and burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cocheran came to Oklahoma in 1905 and had lived near Cement most of that time. She is a member of the North Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death in 1920. Survivors include three sons, Wick, Allie, and Hollie, all of Cement, four daughters, Mrs. Effie Hamrick of Chickasha, Mrs. Lulu Elliott of Amber, Mrs. Corda Payne of Searcy, Arkansas, and Mrs. Ethel Akins of Cement, 34 Grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. © The Chickasha Daily Express November 1947 Clarinda [McKenzie] Cocheran Funeral service for Mrs Clarinda Cocheran, 74, of Cement, route 2, were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral home. Chickasha, with Waldo Proffit conducting the services. Interment was in the Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Cocheran died at her home Tuesday evening. Music was furnished by Mr. And Mrs. Henry Paddock, Mrs. Floyd Gateka and Roy Finley who sang, "What A Friend," "Nobody Knows But Jesus," and "Does Jesus Care." Pallbearers were Henry Mollett, A.B. Hamrick, Russell Hamrick, Cecil Smiley, W. M. Ragland, and A.D. Robinson. Mrs. Cocheran was born July 4, 1872, at Rowan County, Kentucky, and died May 19, 1947, at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 9 days. She was a member of the Church of Christ, joining at the age of 13 years. She was married to W.W. Cocheran October 28, 1888. To this union was born 3 sons and 5 daughters. Mr. Cocheran and the oldest daughter preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Wick, Allie, and Hollie, all of Cement; four daughters, Mrs. Effie Hamrick of Chickasha, Mrs. Lula Elliott of Amber, Mrs. Corda Payne of Searcy, Arkansas; and Mrs. Ethel Akins of Cement, 34 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. |
