Noble Otis Brooks

Funeral service for Noble Otis Brooks, 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2002, at the College Heights Baptist Church. Rev. James Swain will be officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 29, 2002, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sevier Funeral Home.

Noble Brooks was born January 31, 1918, in Doyle, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph and Viola [Dowty] Brooks. Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior September 26, 2002, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Noble graduated from Chickasha schools. he married Eva Stumpf December 24, 1941. Eva preceded him in death May 30, 2001.

Noble served in the military in World War II. He was employed by the Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 1972. Noble was a Deacon and Charter Member of College Heights Baptist Church.

Noble was a Disabled American Veteran and was instrumental in establishing the Veterans' Memorial at Shannon Springs.

Noble served as Ward 4 Councilman for several years.

Survivors include four daughters: Margie and Paul Lewis of Newcastle, Jean Campbell of Norman, Cheryle Presley of Chickasha, Karen and Charles Taylor of Chickasha; eight grandchildren: Paul Lewis Jr., Debbie Bassinger, Danny Lewis, Lisa Spears, Darren Campbell, Shane Roberts, Jennifer Morris, Brian Morris; ten great-grandchildren and one great-grandson; one sister Vera Proctor of Huntsville, TX; two brothers: Wayne Brooks of Chickasha and Dale Brooks of TX.

Internment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Restoring The Glory Foundation at College Heights Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Paul Lewis Jr., Darren Campbell, Shane Roberts, Brian Morris, Chris Spears, and Charles Taylor.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Shoemake, Gerald Coleman, and Webb Rodgers.

Eva Mae [Stumpf] Brooks

Funeral service for Eva Mae Brooks, 82, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2001, at the College Heights Baptist Church, Reverend C.A. "Pete" Spradlin will be officiating, assisted by Rev. James Swain.

Eva Mae Brooks was born December 2, 1918, in Shoal Creek, Arkansas the daughter of Frank and Anna Stumpf. A wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother she went to be with her Lord and Savior May 30, 2001.

She and Noble Brooks, her husband of 59 years, were married December 24, 1941.

Eva owned and operated Eva's Beauty Salon for over 30 years.

Eva was an active member of College Heights Baptist Church being a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. Eva was a teacher for several years and an active member in her Naomi Sunday School Class. She was also a Charter member of College Heights Baptist Church. She also volunteered at the Community Pink House and served as an auxiliary member of the Disabled American Veterans group.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, twin sister, brother and sister. Survivors include: her husband Noble Brooks of the home; 4 daughters; Margie Lewis and husband Paul of Newcastle, OK., Jean Campbell of Norman, OK., Cheryle Presley of Germantown, MD, Karen Taylor and husband Charles of Chickasha OK., 8 grandchildren: Paul Lewis Jr., Lisa Spears, Debbie Basinger, Darren Campbell, Danny Lewis, Shane Roberts, Jennifer Morris and Brian Morris; 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson; 1 sister Jewel Wilson of Amarillo, TX.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
