Thomas D. Bernard

T. D. Bernard Dies At Home In Chickasha

Funeral services for Thomas D. Bernard, who died in his home in Chickasha Dec. 20 from pneumonia, were conducted by Rev. Garrison at the First Christian church there with burial in the Rose Hill cemetery of Chickasha. He had been in failing health for several years.

T.D. Bernard was born in Barber county, Kans., in 1878 and came to Carnegie in 1902.

He married Etta Berkley in 1903 and to them two children were born, Earl and Mildred. Earl preceded his father in death two years ago.

He had been a member of the Christian church in Chickasha since moving there 18 years ago.

Survivors are his wife of the home and the daughter, Mrs. Joe Bowers, three grandsons and one sister, Mrs. Gordon Smith of Medicine Lodge, Kans.

Earl Blan Bernard

Earl Bernard Dies In California

Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in Chickasha for Earl Bernard, Former Carnegie man, who died November 26 at Oakland, Calif. from an attack of pneumonia. George Davis, pastor of the First Christian church conducted the services and burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Bernard who was about 39 years of age was working as a steam fitter in a shipyard having one to California June 1 of this year. Prior to that for several years he was in the oil industry at Vernon, Texas.

Earl Blan Bernard was born at Carnegie where he attended school and grew to manhood.

He has been a member of the Christian church since early youth.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Sexton-Bernard, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Bernard and his sister, Mrs. Mildred Bowers.

Attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Berkley, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. McCoy, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hewes, Mrs. Nellie McCoy, and Mrs. Martha Swigart.
