Ardell Marie [Gaston] Beard

Funeral service for Marie Gaston Beard, 90, of Chickasha was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Mrs. Beard was born October 12, 1904 in Lineville, Alabama the daughter of James L. and Leona [Barnhill] Gaston.

She became an R. N. in 1927 at Chickasha Hospital. She was an office nurse for 24 years for Dr. L. E. Wood

Mrs. Beard was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, the McElhoes Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women.

She and Thomas Ernest Beard were married June 4, 1927 in Chickasha. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Beard was also preceded in death by her son Tom Beard, Jr., two brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Howell Batie of Chickasha; another daughter-in-law, Virginia Beard of Norman; two granddaughters, Donna Beard of Dallas, TX and Barbara Batie of Oklahoma City; one grandson, Terry Beard of Norman; one sister, Irene Welch of Chickasha and numerous nieces and nephews including Bob Layman of Chickasha.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Thomas Ernest Beard Jr

A memorial service for Thomas Ernest Beard, Jr., 52, Canyon, Texas was held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, 1981 in the First Christian Church at Canyon, Texas. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday May 9, 1981 in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha with Rev. Robert Majors, pastor of the Epworth Methodist Church officiating.

Mr. Beard was born October 1, 1928 in Chickasha. He died Wednesday May 6, 1981 in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

He attended Chickasha High School and graduated in 1946. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Pharmacy in 1950.

Mr. Beard and Virginia Butler were married in Norman in 1950 and moved to Pampa, Texas in 1951. He owned and operated the Richard Drug in Pampa for over 20 years. Mr. Beard was currently working for the Texas Department of Health as the pharmacist for Long Term Care Unit of Public Health Reg. No. 1 in Canyon, Texas. He also worked as a pharmacist of Southwest Osteopath Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

Mr. Beard was a member of the First Christian Church of Pampa. He was a member of IOOF, the Elks No. 1573, a past governor of the Loyal Order of Moose and the past president of Pampa Kiwanis and Pampa Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Beard in March 1978. Survivors include his wife, Virginia of the home; one son, Terry Beard of Pampa, Texas; one daughter, Donna Beard of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Marie Beard of Chickasha and one sister, Joan Batie of Sterling, Colo

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
