Thompson was born October 29, 1956, in Marlow, Okla., and died on Sunday, November 28, 2004, in Chickasha, Okla. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma November 30, 2004 October 29, 1956 ~ November 28, 2004 Graveside service for Leona "Joyce" Thompson, 48, of Amber, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at the Pocasset Cemetery. Leona "Joyce" Thompson was born October 29, 1956, in Marlow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy Taylor and Leona Warner Taylor. She died Sunday, November 28, 2004, in Chickasha. Due to her father's employment in construction, Joyce and her family lived in several states and towns in Oklahoma. She graduated from Am-Po High School in 1975. Joyce married Bill Thompson on November 27, 1975, in Amber, Oklahoma. They had 29 wonderful years together. She was a homemaker, taking care of her family, and she worked at Wal-Mart as a sales clerk. She enjoyed working in her garden and being outdoors. She loved and collected Teddy Bears as a hobby. Joyce was preceded in death by: paternal and maternal grandparents; one sister: Melody Ann Berry; one brother: Tim Taylor. Survivors include: husband, Bill Thompson, and one son, Steven Thompson, both of the home; parents, Roy and Leona Taylor of Amber; three sisters and brother-in-law: Debbie Taylor, Jean Taylor, and Amy and Richie Epperson, all of Amber; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Quinton and Shirley Taylor of Blanchard, and Kenny and Jamie Bruce of Dibble; and a host of nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
