Pocasset, Oklahoma May 2008 October 28, 1930 ~ May 16, 2008 Memorial services for Claudia Mae Baker Studer, 77, of Pocasset, were held Monday May 19, 2008, in the First Missionary Baptist Church in Pocasset. Claudia Mae Baker was born October 28, 1930, in Farmers Valley, Texas, the daughter of William Baker and Vada Rush Baker. She died May 16, 2008 at her home in Pocasset. Claudia was raised in Altus and attended schools in Altus, Oklahoma. She married Jim Briscoe on December 24, 1946, in Vernon, Texas. A son, Mark, was born October 19, 1947. Claudia was employed at JC Penney's in Altus before opening her own dress shop in 1967 on the square in Altus. She married Joseph Studer on June 4, 1983, in Altus where they resided until moving to Pocasset in 1986. Most important to Claudia was God, church, her family and friends. Claudia was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Jim Briscoe; son, Mark Briscoe; sister, Wanda Houston; and brother, William Baker. She is survived by her husband Joseph of the home; daughter-in-law, Ellen Briscoe of Oklahoma City; stepdaughters, Roberta Holmes [Esley] and Joyce Russell [Buck], both of Altus; grandchildren, Brandon Briscoe, Bryan Briscoe, Reesey Russell, all of Oklahoma City, Blain Russell and Greg Solis [Christina], all of Altus; great-grandchildren, Breeana Briscoe and Mark Briscoe, both of Oklahoma City, Saige, Zynn, Jack and Sarah, all of Altus; sisters, Mary Muse of Clinton, and Peggy Sue Bifflmaier [Gene] of Salina, Kan.; brother, Tommy Joe Baker of Springfield, Mo..; numerous nephews and nieces who called her "Honey". Memorial services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
