Chickasha, Oklahoma September 1947 May 3, 1869 ~ Septemer 5, 1947 According to the 1870 and 1880 US Censuses, "San" grew up in Polk, Ray County, Missouri, living with his parents and siblings. On November 5, 1890, he married Cordia Daniel in Elmira, Ray County, Missouri. In 1900, he and his family lived in Weaubleau, Hickory County, Missouri, and he was farming on rented land. In December 1905, he shipped all of their household goods, horses and cattle via train from Weaubleau to Pocasset, Grady County, Oklahoma. The family followed in January of 1906. This information came from the notes of Ura Preston, a resident of Pocasset. In 1910, the family lived in Amber, still farming rented land, but by 1920, they owned a home in Pocasset. They still lived there in 1930, but by 1940, San was a widower, living in Chickasha with his daughter Lola and grandson JW. |

On November 5, 1890, she married Robert Sanford Osborn in Elmira, Ray County, Missouri. In 1900, she and her family lived in Weaubleau, Hickory County, Missouri, farming rented land. In December 1905, they shipped all of their household goods, horses and cattle via train from Weaubleau to Pocasset, Grady County, Oklahoma. The family followed in January of 1906. This information came from the notes of Ura Preston, a resident of Pocasset. In 1910, the family lived in Amber, still farming rented land, but by 1920, they owned a home in Pocasset. Cordia died at home in Pocasset in 1924. |
Chickasha, Oklahoma November 2023 August 5, 1941 ~ November 23, 2023 A funeral service for Bob Osborn, 82, of Chickasha, will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Bobby Glen Osborn was the oldest living child, following the passing of an infant sister, of Glen Asbury Osborn and Wanna Fae [Robertson] Osborn, and was born August 5, 1941, in Pocasset, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Bob grew up in Pocasset helping on the family's dairy farm. He graduated from Pocasset High School in 1959 and had never missed a day of school and was the catcher on the school's baseball team. On June 30, 1961, he married Tresa Nan Shipp and they had a daughter and a son. They shared 58 years of marriage before her passing in March of 2020. Bob worked for Lufkin Oilfield Division setting pumping units and then transitioned to oilfield sales. He then worked in oilfield sales for Leamco. Eventually, he started his own company, Osborn Pumping Unit Repair, based out of Hennessey. He and Tresa returned to the Chickasha area and began farming. Throughout the 70's and 80's he enjoyed showing horses. He was very outspoken with his opinions and a strong-willed man. He could be the life of the party and had always loved music, playing his guitar since he was a young man. He loved wheat farming and farm equipment, and enjoyed going to farm auctions. He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife Tresa, sister LaWanna Jo Osborn, brother Ricky Frank Osborn, great-grandson Brady Glen Benson, and nephew Jonathan Michael Osborn. Loved ones left to remember him are his daughter and son-in-law of Guthrie; son of Guthrie; sisters of Pocasset; grandchildren; bonus granddaughters; and great-grandsons; nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OK 4-H Foundation, Brady Glen Benson Memorial Scholarship, and mailed to 505 Agriculture Hall, Stillwater, OK 74078. Viewing for Bob will be at Ferguson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
Chickasha, Oklahoma February 2020 November 26, 1942 ~ February 26, 2020 Funeral services for Tresa Nan Osborn, 77, of Chickasha, will be held at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Tresa Nan Osborn was born November 27, 1942 in Canon City, Colorado. She was the daughter of Hansel and Mildred [Payne] Shipp. She died on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tresa came to Pocasset as a young girl and graduated from Pocasset High School where she played basketball. She then attended Central State (now UCO) for a couple of years. On June 30, 1961, she married Bobby Osborn and they had 58 years together. Tresa was a dedicated mother with a playful spirit, she stayed at home raising her children during their early years. She then worked as a secretary for Lufkin Trailers, the Edmond Police Department, and retiring from Pocasset Grain at 70 years. She was a wonderful seamstress, an avid gardener and liked canning and cooking. She loved to be outside and in later years when they started farming, she preferred a tractor to housework. When her son Kirk was showing horses, she enjoyed supporting him and the horse show life. Tresa had a servant’s heart and was the backbone of her family. She would always be there in the background, waiting to pick you up when you needed her. She had a big heart for the underdog and her life was devoted to her children, grandchildren and animals. She loved to laugh and have fun and liked to go to casinos and to OU basketball games with her good friend Shirley. She was preceded in death by both parents, brother Robert Stack, Jr., sister Vaughn Farmer and great-grandson, Brady Benson. Survivors include her husband Bobby of the home; daughter and son-in-law Penny and Tim Gooch of Guthrie; son Kirk Osborn of Guthrie; grandchildren Brooke Benson and husband Brian, Clayton Furlong and wife Vanessa; bonus granddaughters Katy and Abby Gooch; great-grandsons Dominic, Blake, Jameson and Ryan; nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of her great-grandson can be made to OK 4-H Foundation, Brady Benson Memorial Scholarship, 205 4-H Youth Development, Stillwater, OK 74078. Interment will be in Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
