© Chickasha Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, December 3, 1920 September 1, 1873 ~ November 27, 1920 Willis Hiram Minter, well known land dealer of Pocasset died at his home early Saturday morning, November 27 of hemorrage of the stomach. He was born in Benton, Marshal County, Kentucky, September 1, 1873 and came to Kansas with his parents at six years of age. He came to Oklahoma in 1889 and moved to Chickasha in 1893. He was married to Miss Agnes Rooks of Duncan, March 4, 1899, and had enjoyed the best and happiest of home life ever since. He was a pioneer of this country, especially since Pocasset is built on his allotted land. "Doc" as he was commonly called was a shrewd business man but always honest and square in his dealings, Jolly and optimistic in his conversation, kind and affectionate to home folks. Above all he was a real booster. He leaves a mother, wife, two daughters and two brothers to mourn his loss. Interment was made in the Pocasset Cemetery Sunday afternoon. |
