© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma December 29, 2003 Joyce Ladonna [King] Martin August 25, 1939 ~ December 27, 2003 Funeral services for Joyce Ladonna Martin, 64, of Pocasset, Oklahoma, will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Hatfield officiating. Joyce Ladonna Martin was born August 25, 1939, in Waurika, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ollie King and Ima Felsie Marney King. She died Saturday, December 27, 2003, at her home in Pocasset, where she had lived for the past twenty-four years. Joyce grew up in Waurika and attended the Waurika Public Schools. She came to Chickasha in 1961. Over the years, Joyce held several jobs including being a waitress, a sales clerk for Gibson's, a sales clerk for C. R. Anthony's and Jeans Dress Shop. She also had been employed with Gabriel Ride for ten years. She married Fred Martin on October 19, 1979, in Chickasha. She was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Iona Irwin and two brothers, J. B. King and William Blanton King. Survivors include her husband, Fred, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Brandan Bickerstaff, of Chickasha; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Michelle Reed, of Tuttle, Darren and Kristi Martin, Greg and Tina Martin both of Ninnekah, Dean Martin, of Ft. Hood, Texas; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Beatrice and Henry Pope Etta Lee and Robert Taylor, Louise Enos, her twin sister and brother-in-law, Loyce and Ray Goates, two brothers and sisters-in-law, O. E. and Nell King, Harold and Carolyn King; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
