Leslie Jean [Ivester] Hammons
February 17, 1940 ~ June 28, 2015


Leslie Jean “Ivester” Hammons peacefully went to be with her Lord and King on Sunday morning, June 28, 2015. Jean was born February 17th, 1940 in Chickasha, OK to L.W. “Whit” Ivester and Ruby “Watson” Ivester.

She graduated from Pocasset High School in 1958. She married Wayne Blair Hammons on June 6th, 1958. They lived in Wichita Falls, TX for a short time before moving to Chickasha, OK. She worked at the court house and Supreme TV for many years.

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Chickasha, OK. She raised three children: one daughter, Cindy and two sons, Dan and Andy. She enjoyed sewing, bobbin lace, tatting, crocheting, quilting and genealogy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was their biggest fan and supporter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Whit; one brother, Jimmy Ivester; and two sisters, Dorothy Patterson and Leona Dickey.

Jean is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wayne B. Hammons of the home, Daughter, Cindy “Hammons” Gelnar and husband, Joe, of Chickasha, OK, 2 sons: Dan Hammons and wife, Sheri, of Fort Cobb, OK and Andy Hammons of Tampa, FL, Granddaughters: Shannon Mosier and fiancé, Larry Wimberly, of Chickasha, OK; Haley Hammons of Fort Cobb, OK; Danielle Hammons and fiancé, Hunter Quickle, of Fort Cobb, OK; Hannah Gelnar of Chickasha, OK Grandsons: Michael Hammons and wife, Jennifer, of Medford, OK; Nate Hammons and wife, Alesha, of Pocasset, OK; Seth Mosier and Justin Gelnar of Chickasha, OK.

Brother, Wayne Ivester, 3 sisters: Lorene Brooks, Lois Cook, and Bettye Black.

She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tommy Gene Hammons
August 12, 1940 ~ December 10, 2006


Funeral service for Tommy Gene Hammons, 66, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Tommy Gene Hammons was born August 12, 1940 in Kinta, Oklahoma the son of C.O. and Esther "Dub" [Blair Hammons and died December 10, 2006 at his home in Chickasha.

Tommy lived in Grady County most of his life. He graduated from Pocasset High School in 1958. Tommy and Mary Ann Neeld were married March 28, 1961 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He worked for Fairmont Milk and Rainbow Bread. He also worked for Tom's Peanut and Cabot Safety Glass retiring over 10 years ago. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 11 years.

Tommy was preceded in death by: Parents; three brothers: Cecil Hammons, Jay Hammons and Sewell Hammons; one sister: Syble Riley.

Survivors include: Wife: Mary Ann Hammons of the home; two sons: Buddy Hammons of the home; Tracy Hammons of Chickasha; one daughter and her husband: Susie and Danny Howell of Chickasha; Grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Leslie Neal and husband Joe of Chickasha; Noah Willard and wife Sandy of Chickasha; Blake Howell and wife Emily of Chickasha; Brayden Howell of Chickasha; Maloree Hammons and Ashlee Hammons of Tuscaloosa, AL; Brother and sister-in-law: Wayne and Jean Hammons of Chickasha; one sister: Virginia Benton of Eufaula; 3 sisters-in-law: Viola Hammons; Marjorie Hammons; Bobbie Hammons; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; Little baby Honey.

Interment will be in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
