Garrett, 89 of Pocasset, were held on Monday, November 39, 2009 a the First Baptist Church of Pocasset. Houston E. Garrett was born August 15, 1920 in Oney, Okla. to Roy Stanley and Myrtle [Higgins] Garrett. He died Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center of Clinton. Garrett lived in Binger for 20 years and served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II. He returned to Oklahoma from Germany in 1946 and married Mary Lee Osborn on May 18, 1946 in Chickasha. They made their home in Pocasset. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pocasset and a charter member of the Pocasset Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Myrtle Garrett, wife Mary Lee Garrett on August 13, 2003, and sons David Garrett and Frank Garrett. He is survived by son and daughter -in-law Terry and Wynetta Garrett of Pocasset, brother Thomas "Calvin" Garrett of Oklahoma City, four grandchildren, John Garrett, Julie and Bryce Beaty, Tiffany and Kody Clouse and Timothy Garrett, five great grandchildren, Levi Garrett, Hunter Garrett, Piper Beaty, Blade Beaty and Emery Clouse. Rev. David Treadaway of the First Baptist Church in Pocasset officiated with burial in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Huber~Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco. |

September 13, 1920 ~ August 13, 2003 Funeral services for Mary Lee Garrett, 82, of Pocasset, Okla., will be held at 20 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2003, at Pocasset First Baptist Church. Rev. C. A. "Pete" Spradlin and Rev. Cletis Lee will officiate. Mary Lee Garrett was born September 13, 1920, in Pocasset, and died on Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at her home in Pocasset.
Burial will be in Pocasset Cemetery, Pocasset, under the direction of Huber~Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco, Okla. |
© Wilson-Little Funeral Home Newcastle, Oklahoma July 29, 2014 August 16, 1938 ~ July 29, 2014 Emma Dean Garrett age 76 of Oklahoma City, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the St. Ann's Home in OKC. Dean was born August 16, 1938 in Luther, OK. She was the youngest of six children born to Mose Levescy and Janie Misak. Dean grew up in Luther and in the OKC area, graduating from John Marshall High School in 1956. On April 19, 1957 she married the love of her life, a young man from Gracemont, OK by the name of Thomas Eugene Garrett. They were married in Norman and then made their first home in the Crown Heights Community of OKC. Dean and Eugene raised one daughter, Carol. In 1962 they moved to Del City and in 1970 they moved to south OKC. Dean worked many years as a secretary. She worked for various businesses in the OKC area and more than 10 years for B.S. & B. Dean had several hobbies, but most of all was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by: Husband, Thomas Eugene Garrett on October 27, 2004. She is survived by: Daughter, Carol Perry and husband Chris of OKC; One granddaughter, Alexis Perry of OKC; Many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
